The Turtle Club represents within the Town of LaSalle all that organized sports & small town communities can accomplish in bettering and shaping it's youth. It is the focal point of our community for more than 600 + boys & girls ages 5 - 16 years old. It has recently celebrated it's 50 anniversary and remains a private organization owned by it's membership and run successfully each year by volunteers. This in itself is an incredible accomplishment. They have both House leagues and All Star programs in both baseball and softball that offer a variety for those that wish to participate. It has been the foundation in teaching our youth morals and values, good sportmanship, the thrill of competition and the special bonds that form being part of a team. I know this because I have been a member for the part 12 years and last year I managed a special group of 12 year old boys to the Canadian Championships where we lost to BC in a hard fought battle for a chance to go to the Little League World Series. The entire Town came together and followed this group. The congratulatory e-mails and well wishes were overwhelming and the passion this community had for these boys and this organization was unbelievable. It was then that I realized what the Turtle Club meant to this community of 28,000 people. The club is in constant need of both equipment and grounds repair and upgrading and the with the downturn in the economy in this area, the sponsorships and donations have dropped off and put great financial stress on the ability to run this successful program. The $25,000 would go a long way in ensuring that it remains a healthy and vital part of our community and would surely help in these troubled times. The Turtle Club Park and Little League Organization truly embodies all that this celebration tour has been created for. It is a wonderful program and is most deserving of this incredible honour. I hope the Kraft Celebration tour chooses our Facility and our Town so that all of Canada can see what a community can accomplish when all join together for a common goal. The initials on are logo are T - C, so please bring the C-T to T-C. Thank you for your considerations Sincerely, Barry Yetman www.turtleclubbaseball.com
They charge more for registration than any other organisation. They don't even subsidise for families that can't afford to pay. How is this for a community program?
Go TC! You bring so much to the community...let's all give a little back and vote!
Our son thoroughly enjoyed his first year with the organization. Hopefully, there will be more years to come. This group is definitely deserving of this!!!
GO TC!
This is our son's first year in this TC club and being new to an organized sport such as TBall we have seen a great improvement both with his personnal social skills as well as his learning and following a coaches instructions. He already loves the sport and we want to continue to help him grow and fell he's a part of a great team and organization such as the Turtle Club! This would help not only the Turtle Club but also the whole community who come and cheer on what we beleive will be our future stars in this sport. Go TC !!!
